My latest collection on SpoonFlower is for interior designers looking for the luxurious feel of artisan wall renders and stone tiling without the ostentatious price tag demanded by skilled craftsmen. That beautiful marble bathroom can be yours outside of your dreams. Artisan wall rendering is also expensive, and with the minimalism trend, also very much in demand. A plain or muted textured wall plaster offers a space character and elegance. Used by many interior designers to make walls a feature in their own right and as a simple unimposing backdrop for home decor items to add whatever colour and style they want. Some of the most popular designs in this collection, which will grow over time. You can find the complete collection here . . . Rustic Renders and Stone Wallpapers If you use any of my wallpapers in your interior design projects I would welcome sharing a photograph of the end result, and how you have incorporated a design into your overall interior style and aesthetic.

It's been a fun year so far designing new and exclusive patterns for my SpoonFlower shop. I've been experimenting with textures and will highlight a new collection of rustic wallpapers in a later post. This is the best from March 2024. Pretties for makers too...
If your gearing up for a #spring #makeover check out my design collections @ SpoonFlower.
Find that perfect #wallpaper or gorgeous #upholstery #fabric amongst my wild collections of colour. Not everyone likes patterned wallpaper. But not everyone likes the messy ordeal of painting walls either! An easy work around is solid colour wallpapers. Adding a pretty minimal patterned border to a plain coloured wall gives an elegant and tasteful decor finish that will remain in favour for years to come. Take a look at my collection of wallpaper borders and matching solid colour wallpaper designs and bring elegant minimalism to your home. Wallpaper Borders Personal favourites from my challenge entries @ SpoonFlower!

Selling on any POD site can only ever offer passive income, otherwise known as 'Pocket Money' or 'The Tip Jar'. With that in mind an artist should focus their time and energy on creating art. Passive income should make itself. Offering buyers a handful of select artworks for a limited time and in a limited format promotes sales much more than listing hundreds or thousands of mediocre and samey artworks. Quality over quantity always wins hands down. It's the strategy I have adopted with all of my passive POD income selling outlets.
Buyers are more likely to finalise a sale if they know the product they desire is only available for a limited time. It also pays to offer one style of artwork on any given POD platform. I've chosen to offer caricatures only in my FY! shop. It's a simple sales model which feeds the art collector's craving for exclusive artwork that is affordable. Changes at #Society6 this year will deter many #artists from #selling on their website.
Not only did they start deducting delivery costs from artists #commission #earnings but they have also implemented a paid shop plan structure. Any artist who wants to list more than 10 artworks has to pay for the privilege! Even successful artists on their platform will have to think twice before committing to such a hefty annual cash outlay to sell #POD art on a sales commission only basis. The pricing structure is simple but as any POD sales outlet only affords an artist a minimal #passive #income many will quit Society6 altogether. Passive doesn't have to be paltry. I have sold on #S6 for some years now and would be out of pocket if I had to pay to sell. My way around this problem is to stay with the free shop option. As stated in my new S6 artist's biography, "Annually each #January #YogiYarntailandMe will list up to 10 new designs #exclusive to Society6. These #limited designs will also be exclusive to 1 product only. These designs will not be offered for sale here or elsewhere after end #December. It is not possible to purchase a particular design on a different product, or after the December deadline, so please remember that these are limited designs." Society6 claim that this pay to sell way forward will rid us of the huge mass of poor quality art now offered for sale on their platform. Unfortunately it won't. Just look at any of the other major POD sites which charge an artist to sell and you'll see far more bad art than good. My new selling tactic on Society6 means that I can offer buyers artwork exclusive to that platform and exclusive to one product. To start with I will list up to 10 designs in January and remove them in December of each year. I've listed 3 new and exclusive designs, each available on 1 product only. These will be for sale until December. YogiYarntailandMe Funky Furniture @ Society6 Take a look and tell me what you think of my new selling strategy. Sales of surface pattern designs have been so steady this year that I've had little time for anything else. Clearly for me this aspect of my artistry attracts the most revenue, and therefore takes up most of my time of late. Far too much time is spent promoting on social platforms. I aim to modify my behaviour in this regard. I do plan to concentrate more on traditional art in the near future, and have bought in fresh supplies of materials and tools to do so. For now I will leave you with a look at my most popular designs @ Spoonflower this year. I've also started a Facebook group dedicated to Spoonflower designs, challenge designs included. So if you sell @ Spoonflower feel free to join the group. Other news. Well I've quit selling at some outlets due to poor performance. Others went bankrupt due to the COVID lockdowns. I plan to start a licensing portfolio next year. I've just proofed 200+ new designs @ Spoonflower which will go on sale to the public by next weekend. Some old news but definitely a catalyst to improved sales statistics was a placing in a Spoonflower design challenge earlier this year. I try to enter all of them now.. For now we must all expect to feel the impact of the 'cost of living crisis'. It does nothing for the job market and will see many more out of work before governments do what it takes to stabilise our economies. And to top it all off there's the threat of global war. Can it get any worse in 2023?
